This is a serious issue.
Topps recalled a years output of hamburger, almost 22 million pounds. American Foods recalled 95,000 pounds, and Cargill recalled almost a million pounds of ground beef.
All recalled due to E. coli or possible E. coli contamination in the last few months. This is just ground beef, the canned food recalls are also on the rise.

It seems rather coincidental to me, somebody is simply not doing their job by checking quality.
I hate to sound conspiratorial, but could it be we are being attacked through our food sources?

No, let the market place decide. If enough people get sick and die the market will put that company out of business. You don't want regulations interfering with business, do you?

J/K!!! I was a conservative as a kid and believed that way. One thing that helped me learn and develop was the book "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair, about the Chicago meat industry in the early 20th or late 19th century--meat companies had no problem grinding up human body parts, rats, rotting putrid animal organs, and putting it into cans for people to eat. The book was and remains a classic as to why we NEED UNIONS and NEED GOVERNMENT REGULATION! It should be required reading for everyone, just so you can see how far off track capitalism can become when it is not regulated. If you have not read it, do. Especially if you are a conservative. Learn from it.

Perhaps the regulations need to be better enforced.
