I want to know what the hell makes men so interested in video games that they would rather play Halo than have sex with their wife/girlfriend?

I have people constantly complaining to me that their man wants the damn game more than them. Most recently, my husbands friend was telling him that his GF came to the door in only a black lace bra and panty set and asked if he were coming to bed. Now this idiot looked at his WOW (World of Warcraft) then at her and said "naw." LOL and my husband cant explain it to me, cause he wouldnt even think about putting a game ahead of me, so I thought I'd ask the answers community.

What makes a man turn down sex for a video game? How would/does this impact your marriage/relationship? Do men realize that rejecting your wife for a video game=less desire for sex?

ok for all the people too slow to understand, lol, I dont need advice! I, luckily, dont have to worry about this, but I would like to understand it. SO answer the question, less the bullshit analysis we all jump into here on YA and everything will be smooth as gravy. ;)

There was a short period a couple of years ago when I was feeling too much pressure in my life. I was unhappy with my job and feeling that there was too little "me time." The game was an environment where I felt I had some control over events.

As a result, I did sometimes choose to remain involved in a game world rather than go to bed for cuddling. I expect if I'd gotten an invitation as clear as the one you mention, I would have dropped the game in an instant. I would have looked up from WoW and said "WOW!" It was so easy to delay going to bed (when bed usually meant a few minutes of cuddling and then having her drift to sleep) so I could have some quiet time of my own design.

Eventually, I made a decision to drop the games because it was starting to add more of a strain on our relationship and the relationship was more important. I decided to try to find ways to find "me time" that did not slight my partner.

I hope this gives some insight in why some men (me) have chosen a gaming world from time to time.

I like video games but not to that extreme. I'd never put video games before a girl again. I've learned my lesson and I'm not old. I'm only 19 and I've already learned. I'd generally rather choose to interact with humans than play video games anyway. I only use video games when I'm bored and have nothing better to do. So, I'd alway rather be out with people. I don't quite understand it because the video game will always be there, the occassion or heat of the moment won't.

Well maybe you ladies will start to realize that this is a way some of us men are getting you ladies back for saying to us when we ask oh I have a headache, or I'm to tired, or the many number of other excuses you make up.

Really do you think we do not know that your lying through your teeth. Maybe if you gave it to us when we initiate we would not have to turn you down when we are playing a videogame.

Stop rejecting your man when he wants it and just maybe
he wont reject you when you want it.

But a real man usually would never put a game ahead of his wife that is me anyways but I also enjoy sex alot so when I can get it the videogame gets shutdown.

Men are like big kids we never grow up we love our toys they just get more expensive as we age and well videogames are away for many of us to leave reality for awhile.

It's an addiction. I was on Everquest for 4 months about 7 years ago shortly after it came out. My son was in college at the time and was a "Beta Tester". He ended up dropping out of school, though eventually he went back and got trained as a video game programmer. It was the only way to communicate because he had no phone and lost his cell phone all the time. When I was on it, I would put some pan with food on the stove and run back to my computer. Eventually, I went back to my real life, as did my son. He's married now with a daughter. This is a serious addiction problem. I know that sounds weird, but apparently they are setting up clinics in Korea to help people with that problem.

ive done that to my girl a few time
its just after a while sex is an everyday thing so its like maybe later im in the mood for my video games
now unless the girl is just drop dead gorgous then she gonna have to just deal with it sometimes
More often than not the women are not in the mood for sex and the guy has to chuck it up as a loss for that night
so it goes both ways
and dont tell me youve never been like "im not in the mood right now" cause everyone does that
its just men have different reasons than a woman
that being said when ur girl has done something special like getting all prettied up to have some unordinary sex then the man should get off his *** and please that woman(its disrespectful not to)
those are my thought
hope this clears things up

It's all about the game. Men like the challenge, the thrill of the game. Sex will always be their even after we finish the game, they know it and so do you.
