your cell phone or electronic dies?
or when you hear about the thousands of poor sickly human beings dying all over the world every day?

answer honestly. even if you just answer it in your mind. just something to stop and think about. i see and hear so much complaining from people every day.. in real life, but especially on tel-LIE-vision. when are people in this country going to stop for a second and realize that there are more important things happening in this world than some silly situation going on in their own life? that question i know will never be answered..

The issue is that everyone judges pain and suffering based on personal experience. Most people in this country have not been sickly or malnourished, so they can not relate to the pain and suffering it causes. Personal issues are always more important to a person than worldwide issues because they are very easy to feel. For most people, the suffering in other parts of the world are newspaper articles and a picture of a starving child.

To answer your question, I'm more worried about sick and malnourished people than my cell phone. Although right now my car is making me angry.

I show more concern when my electricity dies--especially if it's in the summer (I live in GA) or in the winter (yes--it does get cold here). If I were single with no kids, it wouldn't be a big deal--I'd just pretend I was camping, lol. Since I have two toddlers, I'd be afraid if the power didn't come back on we wouldn't be able to eat, bathe, keep warm (or cool, depending upon the season), etc.

I realize there are horrific things happening all over the world, and I'm certainly sympathetic, but I don't live in Darfur, Ethiopia, Indonesia, hell--Malibu for that matter. I live in Atlanta Georgia, and MY family is my first concern.

I'd say that I get just as angry everytime a stupid diamond commercial comes on t.v. as I do when my cd player batteries die.
