You just made a big mistake.

You use steer manure for flowering plants, NOT VEGGIES or FRUITS.

Now your Veggies are going to have a hint of S#*T in the taste!!!

START OVER!

You should be fine with just the manure you added - there will be plenty of all the correct nutrients in that. Just make sure you dig it in well, rather than leaving it on top, as nitrogen loss can occur if you don't. And no, your vegetables WON'T taste of manure... but I'd wash them well... :)

I would add the manure now and take a soil sample in the spring. Then you can add nutrients and adjust pH for the growing season without adding something your soil doesn't need. RScott

I felt a need to tell you that we goofed and put steer manure in our vegetable garden "once"! We had BIG beautiful bunches of broccoli (largest I had ever seen) and full of those little green mealy worms. We washed and clean, and washed and cleaned again and again, but we could NEVER find the all and get them out of this wonderful green vegi.... We had to throw it all out, for not a single person wanted the extra protein that came with this broccoli.

Later I was told it was not made for vegetable gardens and now I know why!

LIME! plenty of lime, and turn the soil over so the lime mixes in
with the manure.
Do not add anything else, because the addition of more fertilizer will BURN any tender young roots that plants are trying to produce.
That is the result of too much feed, whether it is organic or Miracle Grow, too much burns the tender young roots to death!

no because you already had a fertilizer... hmmm just take care of the plant and always put a water on it... ahmm animal manure should be cow's manure because some manure doesn't work because they are too hot for the plants like our manure...

I agree with RScott. Decomposted cow manure is one of the best things you can use, and not dangerous.
