I'm 64 y/o. There have been 4 women in my life that I loved and loved me in return. I had very passionate relationships with them. I married the 4th one and we were married for 19 years.

There have been other women that I loved passionately, however it was 1 sided, they didn't feel that way about me. We can love again. There is an issue, that if our 1st love relationship doesn't work out, we can start to protect ourself by not giving all of ourself to the other person.

Maybe that's a good thing; I don't know. Maybe I gave too much of myself to the woman that was the first 1 that I loved and loved me in return.

There is a lot of nonsense that people believe, that are young and have no actual long term experience in love relationships. I think I have said before that I believe that "true love" is agape love. It is not something that just happens. A person must develope the ability to make a life long commitment to treat the other person in a loving way, no matter what the situation they are in.

Personally, I think that a person needs to a true follower of Jesus and try to follow His commandments in order to make that type of commitment. Saying that, I'm sure that there are many people of other faiths that have life long loving relationships with their spouses.

I suspect that you are in a time in your life where you are wanting to find someone who will love you in an agape way and that you can love in return. Ask God to bring that person into your life and that you will each recognize each other as the love you are waiting for.

Please do not settle for someone less than you deserve. I think that you are a wonderful woman that a Godly man would be blessed to have you as his wife.

I have to disagree with the majority here. Passion can arise and fall, only to rise like the Phoenix from the ashes. I was in a true relationship where we would break up, only to rekindle the passion again. I did note that each time we started over the passion lasted for a shorter period, and then the problems that drove us a part returned again. That was decades ago, and on occasion the passion will rise up in my heart, but then goes away. Memory keeps my head on straight now.

From my recent life experience, I believe there only to be one person for me. The passion stays no matter what happens.

If it doesnt work out you could settle for someone else but you would never lose what you feel for that special someone.

We are destined to feel passion only once in our lifetime. The sad part is millions of people get born, live, and die, without feeling it!
