i should imagin it would be worth while measuring the amount of polution that comes from the mouths of labour MPs. if we put a bulsh*t box in the house of commons and made them put one p in for every lie......we could afford to offset the WORLDS carbon.

The Earth is moving towards the Sun by about an inch a year. After thousands (if not millions) of years, that's going to have some effect on our climate. When the Sun starts moving away from the Sun, the Earth will go through a time of cooling like in another ice age and thus the whole process will start all over again. This "Global Warming" thing is just another "Refer Madness" type thing. Scare the public into doing what they want.

The aviation and automotive industries have spent countless billions designing and fielding carbon-reducing technologies.
Have you replaced an old appliance with an energy efficient appliance? Or put in a single one of the new light bulbs? Look to yourself for the answer to the global warming issues.
You are one of those that choses to moan and groan about why EVERYONE ELSE isn't doing the things that YOU WOULD DO... Forgetting, of course, that you still have your **** sitting in an easy chair flipping through the channels NOT DOING ANYTHING USEFUL.

You want Ken's job, Boris. In the unlikely event you get it, what will you do about it? How will you cope with the increased passengers at Heathrow? It is already at 98% capacity.
These are the problems people in government have to deal with. Global warming on the one hand, the needs of passengers, businesses and Londoners in general on the other. Problems like this are difficult but best dealt with by someone competent, ie Labour.

I just had to laugh (sorry) at 'eatmysho' when he claims this government is competent, surely incompetent is the correct word after the missing discs fiasco and the latest Labour Party donations situation.

ALLEGEDLY (and I'm not saying this is true), but apparently the impact on the environment is lower having planes just taking off and landing than it is having them either idling on the runway waiting to take off or "stacked" in the sky and circling waiting to land.
That is the environmental take, but it was Richard Branson who said that so whether it's true or not is another matter. Interesting point though.

Because they love talking down to us and telling us to get rid of our cars, use low energy lightbulbs etc.
It gives them an excuse to impose congestion charging and pay-as-you-drive road charges so they get more money for their big fat salaries.
Funny thing is, you never see these politicians queueing for a bus and they all live in big houses which cost £1000s to heat. Hmm.

Sheer hypocrisy ! ! There is no point in me trying to do my bit by recycling tins, plastics and newspapers when the people telling us to do this do just the opposite !
