4^(x + 2) = 2
Take log base 10 of both sides.
(x + 2) log 4 = log 2
x + 2 = log 2 / log 4
x + 2 = log 2 / log 2²
x + 2 = log 2 / 2 log 2
x + 2 = 1 / 2
x = - 3/2
