No way! This is a great question. Hope you're talking about American Football...
Queen = quarterback: the most important piece/player.
King = the football itself: basically useless by itself, but vital to the game.
Knights = RB/TB/HB: they stand next to the center of the field/board, and move both laterally and forward/back.
Bishops = Linebackers: vital for mobile defense.
Rooks = Offensive Linemen: extremely powerful and often vital to the security of the center of the field/board.
Pawns = Waterboys?
