what causes high amniotic fluid levels??...its not really high but at 25 weeks they said it was in the 60 % (15.5) a little on the high side....what causes more than normal amniotic fluid? im not worried about it . just curious!

abnormalities and birth defects can cause high amniotic levels ,but not always so dont stress,you did ask though

Well the amniotic sac is what keeps the baby away from harm, as in if you were to bump your belly the baby would be fine, I think they just measure if you have extra fluid for normal I think you will be ok, If you are really concerend call the dr just in case it never hurts to know than to guess GOOD LUCK

There are several things that can cause an excess of fluid. You would know by now if you were carring multipulesThe doc may do some additional testing to be sure that the baby isn't anemic or check its kidney functions. They may also do additional genetic testing if they feel it is a concern, but if the doc isn't worried, then you shouldn't be.

I have high levels too. My doctor explained that it's one of those things that just happens sometimes but that it's of no reason to be concerned.
