They have never had a number 1 album in the UK.. The closest they have ever gotten was number 2..
Coincidentally, the song should I stay or should I go from the Album Combat Rock is the only Number one Song the band has ever had..

The Clash never had a number 1 album or single.Give 'em enough rope and Combat rock both made #2.London calling made it to #11 and Bankrobber made it to #12.

Their only UK single number one was a re-release of the 1982 track "Should I Stay Or Should I Go?" in 1991 - in 1982 it only reached No17. "Rock the Casbah", an infinately better song also originally from 1982 and re-released in 1991 as well only made number 15 in the singles charts on its re-release, still better than the No30 it made first time around. Even their albums failed to make number one, though a couple did make No2.
