I agree that the busier you are the less pain you feel. I was separated from my husband for 6 months and it did affect my career. I truly believe that one should check their personal business at the back door of your place of employment. But some of us just can't do it, like myself. I continously obessed with getting my husband back. When it came time for my yearly evaluation my boss said she realized that I was going through a tough time and needed to talk but not in the office, Iknow I was driving my co-workers crazy but I just could not help myself, and I did not do as well on my eval, which effected my raise.
Got to be careful. Working does keep your mind occupied but if you need to take the time to heal then I would recommend taking some time off.

Divorce improved my career greatly. I was working as an office manager in a pharmacy when I divorced my first husband.

After the divorce I moved to another state, met a new man and worked for a whil.e in a medical billing service and then got inspired to open my own business. I would have never done that with my first husband because he was not supportive of me.

It put no strain on my credit as I had good enough credit to open my business as well as accounts for the business.

I was only divorced once and I am happily married for the second time now.

Good Luck

My personal life never affects my career. The only time it would is because of medical reasons.
I work, just the same as I always have.
One of the reasons is because he had already damaged my credit score...I will never again combine my finances with another human being.
I've been divorced twice.

No actually i have more money now than i did when i was married as i supported my ex. he contributed very little to our household. he paid as though he were a boarder. we were married for many years but we never shared a marriage. i was not allowed at his workplace, to meet his friends. he didnt mind spending my money though. i have been divorced three times. my credit is shot. but i still have more money now than ever before the only way it affected my career was trying to deal with the depression and still work.
