Question about starting a pill pack one week late....?

Question

I have been on the pill Desogen for about 8 months. I was unable to make it to the clinic to pick up my next pill pack until a few days later. I restarted the pill one week late, on a Sunday. It was NOT the Sunday during or after my period. It was about a week after my period ended. I have done some research and am pretty sure I am protected after taking the first seven pills. Please only respond to this question if you have concrete knowledge on this matter. Thank you.
