I don't know what you have said about old people. I don't know what age you consider old, either. If you're fortunate, however, you will someday join our ranks (it beats the alternative!). We are just people like anyone else, just with more life experience. Whether you believe it or not, that experience has made me wiser. Not just intellectually, but spiritually and emotionally, too. I have a better perspective on what is important in life and what things should simply be accepted. I pick my battles more wisely and I don't get upset about things I cannot change--and age is one of those things. It must be hard for you to imagine some of the exciting events we have seen. The beginning and ends of wars; the first man in space; the first man on the moon; cable tv, cell phones, dvds, cd's; the fall of the Berlin Wall; the end of the Cold War; computers, segregation, the civil rights movement, the summer of love, the Beatles and the Stones and so many sad things--the deaths of our parents and loved ones, the assassinations of President Kennedy, Dr. Martin Luther King and Senator Robert Kennedy. We've seen this country torn apart by the Vietnam War and we know we have seen worse times than today--and our nation survived. If you've said mean things about us, I doubt that we care. Just as you will be old someday, we were once young and we know and remember what that was like, too. For whatever you think you did, I forgive you. And somewhere out here, an "old person" loves you.

We will all live through our own time and later in life you will be envied by the younger generations ,in turn as you are now.
Yes i wonder what things would have been like in by gone eras , dark ages through to modern times
I liked the idea of the wild west eras ,but who knows they may be hated that era that they lived in.
The reason i think is hopefully we each carry some thing a long to the next generations and could end up with a better world one day ,or may be a worse one

OK. YOU still do not have it yet do you? At first I read this and I thought oh sweetie how sincere But you still say OLD PEOPLE wrong category .we are senior citizens, and then you say you wish you went thru some of the stuff we did How about a thank you because, of us you and your children wont have too. In a way I think you might be getting it, and you are finding we do know where our teeth are cause you just about bit off more than you can chew, apology almost excepted

If you could see life through the eyes of a senior, you certainly would envy all of us.
We lived through the wonderful years of the 40's and 50's, when life was simply wonderful.
We now live with the memories of the days gone by.
You have the good sense to have remorse in this complicated world of today.

Yes you can and I appreciate you taking time to apologize. Sometimes we say things without meaning to offend others, yet it does. I've found that when something is written, it doesn't always come out like we meant it to, since we can't see the expressions of the one who's writing.
We have lived through many things in our lives, I'm sure as you age, you will have much to share from your experiences also. All of us can continue to learn from one another.
Best wishes!

It was nice of you to take the time to apologize.
I know how you feel when I think of the things my grandparents lived through I am jealous. But you are right we are all born at a certain time for a reason, I hope you use your time wisely and to help people not tear them down. Good luck to you.

Yes, that's better than just continuing to be ageist. As far as envy, live the age you are at, and be glad you are there, then when you live to your best, you find yourself going into the next phase of your life. It's okay to make mistakes, its not okay to continue misjudging people and putting them all into a group, simply because you haven't any other answer to give than it' s because their OLD. Gb and GL

We all thought we'd never get old either. Then the little wrinkles, jowls, things falling down. Thats life. Your turn one day. For now enjoy it while you can because you only get one shot!! Now I know why they used to say that youth was wasted on the young. I think Mork from Ork was right. Age backwards.

A sincere apology would have started off as" may i please apologize." Not old people! compounding the offense. I think you need to write on the blackboard about 1000 times " I will not call the seniors old people or insult them in any way" that would be a good start.

The day will come when you will have some interesting memories too, and you can tell all the young people about them, just as your parents and grandparents told us of all the things they had lived through.
