I usually mean what I say, even if it's just to make conversation. I get nervous around people, so I usually blurt out stupid conversation when I find myself in the middle of an uncomfortable silent moment. I'm trying to change. I'm finding that staying away from people helps :D

Mostly, I say what I mean. It is also my experience that people of a certain frame of mind can bend even the most innocuous phrases into vicious attacks on themselves.
