Students are feeling the pressure to perform and score the ultimum As in their exams. Is it really all that important? Whose fault is it? Parents or society?

There's no point in discussing "Fault". Blaming is just a way of saying "I'm not doing anything about it."

Yes, good grades matter. A lot.
When I interview somebody for a job, I am more likely to hire someone who made good grades in school.
That said, making straight As all by itself doesn't do it. I want to have someone working with me who is a real human being, not just a bookworm. So, outside interests are important too.

Good grades are all we currently have as a measure of how well someone paid attention. As long as that's true, grades matter.

It's a competitive world.Nobody is wrong while asking you to score high marks. It has to be like this.Only the best are suitable for a good career and acceptable in a good Institution for higher studies.Be realistic and try to understand the fact that no Instt. can accept you denying the rest when others are having higher %age than yours.Same is true while offering a job by any employer.

It depends on what your career goal is. If you want to become a doctor or go to law school, then yes, A's are very important. If you want to get a sales job, then C's will do just as well. There's nothing wrong with society for encouraging excellence. There is something wrong if people have no life outside of school.

Scoring A's in exams is VERY important; it means you've mastered the material. This doesn't mean that you simply 'know' the answers...but that you're learning how to think. We live in a highly technical world and we need to be able to enjoy it! If you can learn to think...you are in for a life of joy and pleasure. If you don't...you'll spend your years grubbing for a living. Study for tomorrow! Good Luck!!!

Its all societies fault. All parents conform to society. As are not always that important. Its that you try your hardest to succeed. Everyone has their own expertise area. Sad part is, to society As are important and that's all that matters.
