A book that has never before been 'made' into a movie, but you would watch if they filmed it as close to the book as possible?

I always wanted them to make DREAM PARK into a movie. All the holograms in the book could have been done and can still be done with the special effects we have today.

I read a fantasy called "The Enchanted Forest" by Patricia Wrede that is like all the fairy tales you've ever heard rolled into one story, ands not as silly as it sounds--a really cute read. it would be a really great animated movie! And if I knew who to suggest it to, I would!

All the time. But the early Stephen King books kind of put a damper on that, as they mostly blew chunks. I mean, if the technology isn't there, DON'T change the story just to put out a cruddy movie. Right now, I'm wishing that they would make W.E.B. Griffin's series into movies. HBO could do them as mini-series like they did with Band of Brothers and From The Earth To The Moon. The series are Badge of Honor, Brotherhood of War, and The Corps. They are excellently written, with endearing characters and plot lines. And the special effects are nothing that Hollyweird can't handle. War footage and cop stuff. But they mangled Hart's War with Bruce Willis and Colin Farrell. The movie bore almost no resemblance to the book.

My favorite book is "Insomnia" by Stephen King. I'd love to see that made into a movie, however I know it wouldn't be any good. Stephen King is my fav author and I've seen all the movies they've made from his books and they all really lose alot in translation. They aren't bad as far as movies go, but they are certainly nowhere near as good as the books.
So if they could make the movie and it was true to the book, then I'd be happy. ((Wow, I'm in a picky mood today, huh?!?))

They actually just made one of my all time favorite books into a movie: "Love in the Time of Cholera" by Gabriel García Márquez.
However, as with all great books, they just can't make the movie as great as the book. Never have, never will.
I would like to see "Crime and Punishment" by Fyodor Dostoevsky, even knowing it would be a disappointment.
