bureaucracy runs at a snails pace in this country

2007-11-27 02:20:45 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 5 0

Because everything that deals with bureacracy takes an overkill amount of time. Perfect example is the FAA coming out saying it will take 15 years to upgrade the air traffic control systems. Can you imagine if your boss came into work tomorrow and told you that you were going to get an upgrade in your computer in 15 years? It's nuts.
20 years ago, hybrid and electric powered cars were available. Now they are being pushed to stop our dependancy on outside nonrenewable fuel sources. Nothing is new, all of the technology has been around for a long time, but money is a huge factor as is big business also. There is another factor that doesn't come up a lot that has to do with the outside countries that own the rights to not only our debt, but also the oil industry. There is a reason why so many presidents have been buddy buddy with Arab oil cartels. As for solar power, it is expensive, and it does take quite a few panels to make any headway, but I think in the future we will see more of it being used. Imagine if new highrise buildings found a way to use solar power in their windows to power their buildings. It would make a powerful effect. It could happen quicker if the government mandated 25% in all new corporate construction... But they won't do it if we don't demand it. BTW I just got back from Maui and they are giving a tax credit to every home that installs a solar water heater, they have wind power on the hills in Lahaina and are talking about a desalination plant. I'm still amazed they haven't set up a biofuel station there since that was the first place I ever heard about it. Some states are getting the picture.

As for illegals, that is a hard one. II continue to come into our country, because it is the only way they can help their families at home. Stop the money from being allowed out of the country, force a valid legal U.S. birth certificate for a driver's license, stop the automatic citizenship for II births, there are lots of things that can be done to stop the problem. But if you watch there will be a pull to have a natural way for II's to get their citizenship. The way of our country has been to lower the standards instead of trying harder to make sure everyone succeeds.

Corporate America! Business interest are blocking every item you mention. Immigrants flooded into this country for years. Our government chose to ignore the influx of illegal immigrants because corporate America wanted the cheap labor. It is only after the corporations became so greedy that they started to use the immigrants in very large numbers, going from mainly service jobs to skilled job that the problem was brought to the forefront. They also invaded the trade industries replacing those workers. America was awaken to the serious threat these immigrants posed after people that had accumulated wealth in equity, such as homes, auto, investments, etc., started to lose their equity & their jobs as they were replaced by illegals. Because congress still has to rely on voters to keep their cushy jobs they started to pay voters the lip service you hear now. All this time & bulls*t, still no solution to the problem. Be it dems or reps, no difference. As for the solar, wind & hydro; the industries (oil, natural gas & coal) that control the much needed utilities to keep our country functional will fight new technology every inch of the way, unless they find a way to control the new ndustries. I believe that oil companies have increased the price of gas & heating oil to build a very huge monetary reserve to buy into these new industries, thereby retaining their hold on energy. Just my beliefs.

Where is there a viable design for a water driven car?

We are getting more solar and wind power daily, try and keep up with the news. We would have a lot more wind power but Ted Kennedy thought it would ruin the view from his seaside mansion.

Hydrogen fuel cell cost about 100,000 currently so it's still not cost effective enough yet. Solar is good for a single homes but not effective on a larger scale. Wind has hope but can't produce enough power for everyone presently. And as for the immigrants. They have not yet begun to start immigrating. Just wait.

Money.

No seriously. If you want them to be sold go out and make them. A car company will only sell them if they can make a profit on them. They could be made but who is going to pay 50k for a new car when you can get one for 20k.

As to illegal immigration money applies there as well who is going to pay to extradite all the illegals?

If that happened, the CEO's of Exxon, etc. couldn't have the huge profits they get. We don't want that now, do we?
