Kiwi, my thoughts were along the lines of what Todd said. It seems to be defined by where your focus is at.. on yourself, or on the other person.

Love is well... love. I'm fairly sure you know what that is. An Infatuation can be an obsessive crush, a romantic obsession or just a plain obsession. If you're infatuated with... lets pick Edward Cullen. If you're infatuated with Edward Cullen, you're obsessed with him and it is nothing like real love (lets ignore the fact that he's not real). Also, you might be in love with someone and constantly think about them, but that doesn't really make it an infatuation because true love (I'm using the term loosely) is involved. Hope I helped.

The symptoms of both are just about the same - fixation, fascination, longing. But infatuation is temporary and superficial. Love is a profound connection with someone on many levels that endures. When you're infatuated with someone, you reach to try to find common interests and viewpoints and you tend to de-emphasize and over emphasize personality traits as necessary to make someone fit your model of a compatible partner. When it's love, those things just naturally and comfortably fall right into place.
I used to have a hell of a time telling the difference between the two. But I've reached a point in my life now where I know my own heart.

Love is what happens when you drink too much wine and email a stranger. Infatuation is when you can't get someone out of your head despite the fact that they aren't right for you.
I don't know...I haven't slept all night...I just took an exam and I think my brain shut itself off as a safety measure. Go with Todd's answer.

Infatuation is like lust - selfish - how a person makes you feel, things that make you happy and elated or even boost your self esteem. The early, exciting phase of relationships is most often infatuation
Love is selfless - giving of yourself to another for the betterment of the whole and knowing that the other party gives equally. Knowing that through think and thin, good and bad, you are standing together to face the difficulties of life.
or in other words - I'm infatuated with you Linz... but in love with my husband LOL!!!

All of you above know so well, but who cares? I don't.
. . . you smile, all the time, and you cry a lot as well, one after another in an infinite row . . . but does it matter?
There are no words to describe Love. You feel like you would like to kiss everybody.
It is very dangerous for yourself as you can't fly, despite you are clearly floating on air. But don't be afraid, an Angel will protect you certainly.

Infatuation is a mental reaction which can be short-lived, whereas love is attachment with heart.

Love goes beyond the sex and infactuation for one another. When you wake up and see each other as you really are. As your skin wrinkles and you now have dentures. You stay by each other no matter how mad you are at each other.........so you really wanna still be in love?

Love is more interested in the other person's best.
Infatuation though fun is more of the initial rush you get being around the person. It is more centered on you.
