Ok, so I'm throwing this out here to find out what other people's opinions are concerning Israel. What do you think it's stance is in today's political and globalizing world? What do you think about it being considered a nation-state? Should it be recognized? If you could please also tell me where you are from that would be great. Thanks! Oh, and please only serious answers.

PS- Bassman- check out the US and it's support of Saudi Arabia and their policies. You'd be more suprised about what we will support in order to secure oil.

Israel is already recognized and would be universally recognized if they had better foreign policy. Israel's stance is that they have some of the worst foreign policy of any country in history. Every time they achieve success, mistakes like the Lebanon invasion take it away from them.

Israel is a nation state and has a charter and a constitution.
Israel is a postage stamp country, the size of New Jersey. They have enemies all around them. They also hold the west bank and the wailing wall surrounds the Temple of the Rock. The Jews stand just outside the wall and pray night and day to have the temple of the rock fall to rubble. This is the root of all trouble in the mid east. no radical Muslim will ever rest while the Jews exist. The Jews in turn are the best enemy any Muslim could hope for. They simply could throw tiny bomb and knock it down so they can rebuild the temple of Solomon which once stood on exactly that spot. The Palestinians had the land they once were on bought out from under them; when their landlords sold the land displacing the homesteaders who rented the land for generations at the end of WW2. In reparations for the Holocaust. Israel can never be recognized as a nation by the Muslims who want the west bank.
It's clear, either The other Arab nations simply refuse to take in the Palestinians to keep unrest tensions at a fever pitch, or the Palestinians wish to fulminate unrest and keep tensions brewing to boiling point.
I believe fervently the Palestinians are the luckiest people on the face of the earth they have Israel as an enemy. No other country would have tolerated such persistent attacks on it's soil without massive swift retaliation. Don't believe me?? Name another country who would have taken the bombardment Israel has??
Ask any Muslim you see in a general conversation this question - "What would you do with the Jewish people now in Israel. " The answer will be. "Drive them into the sea." This religion of "peace" is full of people who advocate genocide.
This religion advocates giving a female teacher who "allowed" her students to name a teddy bear "Mohamed" 40 lashes. Seems to be a barbaric religion of torture.

Israel is an illegetimate state estabilished illegally on the mass grave of Innocent people.

They ARE a recognized Nation-State. Their stance is precarious at best considering they are surrounded by enemies on all sides and the U.S. keeps trying to ride the fence with their enemies. I'm near Pensacola, Fl.

Its not my opinion tho its a fact.
Israel is a FAKE nation like yugoslavia where the previos goverment have been overthrown violently in order to form a new nation.
Palestanains welcomed the holocust survivors with open arms, in return the zionists forcefully declare independence and since there have been war.
They also have been stealing more and more land since then, kind of embarassing that our goverment supports such a criminal nation like Israel.

It is a illegal nation which is backed up by our goverment.
If it was legal, there wont be 40+ nation who wont recognise it.
They occupied palestanian lands back in 1948 and took more and more over time.
technically it shouldnt been recognised b4 1948, the palestanians lived there (muslims , jews , christians).
After the holocust survirors arrived,zionist regime was formed and they violently took over making Muslims and christians refugee and even killing them on regular basis.
Palestine belongs to Muslims,christians and jews,
isnt it surpising that they call it the "jewish state" only?
