I was checking my account last night and apparently I spent 103 dollars at Wal-Mart, but I find that hard to believe, all I bought was a little tykes camera for my best friends daughter which was 30, 2 shirst for her at 5 bucks a pop which totals 40, a little bag to put it in which is what 2 bucks...so...thats 42....some pop, some coffee creamer...and I think that is it...there is no way that equals 103 bucks...Should I investigate?

Yes it does seem that money is spent quickly without realizing where it went. But if you have any questions or doubt, you do need to look into it. Do you still have your receipt? The reason I say this, I had went to a convenient store and used my credit card and by looking at my account I realized there were charges there on days I was not at the store or in town. When I looked further into it, the clerk himself had stolen my credit card number and was using it to get himself and his friend fuel and treats. He has done this to 26 other people who never would have know if I had not request to see the signed receipts. Always remember your receipt might not have you card number on it, but the clerks you give them to do. They have to have that information in order to process it further.

Yes I have and do you have your receipt. If you don't you have no case but more then likely you have bought a few to many small things. I remember I went in walmart just to get some main grocery's and came out with over 80 dollars worth. I got little snacks and pop that I wasn't planing on and it added up fast each thing was less then 2 dollars that I got extra but it didn't take long before we were way up there. Think about how much pop you got and how much it cost if you got a 24 pack that's 6+ dollars alone or you got a couple 2 liters which is 1+ and depending on how many you got it adds up and coffee creamer is not exactly cheap and if you grabbed anything at the line lick a pop for the road or a candy bar. It all adds up fast. Or they rang something up more then once without noticing and in turn they were wrong and you should be getting some money back. Anyways find your receipt and that will tell you all. Good luck and I hope you can get it figured out that way you are not getting cheated out of any money. Later. Hope this helped!

I would definitely try to trace my tracks if I were you. Loosing track of money is so frustrating. I have to be careful of this after I have a few drinks. Once I went shopping at BCBG after happy hour and I wound up spending $600. That is crazy!! I normally would have only bought one dress if I was sober. But the alcohol made me think that for some reason, I needed 3.

Definitely look into that. You may have accidentally bought something expensive.

Yes, that has happened to me. I always check my receipt once I get home. In fact, set up a small baggie (sandwich size) just for receipts throughout the year. Always put them in the bag. It's handy to have in case of events like this. Also, you may need the receipts if you claim your actual state sales tax vs. the average sales taxes from the charts when doing Tax Reporting in April.

Check your receipt. The slip should have an itemized statement as to what you spent. If you don't have your slip and can't seem to figure out what you purchased, by all means investigate. Call the store and see if they have a duplicate copy.

Tell me about it! One day I went to unload groceries from my car and found an AK-47, baby elephant, and human liver in my trunk....I was like, whoa, when did I buy all THAT? Then i searched my pocket and found the receipt . . . receipts never lie. . . .

This won't help you in this instance, but always save your receipts so you can itemize. You could ask the store though as they should have a copy of the receipt with the particular items purchased on it.

I would say investigate if thats really all you bought. That happens to me all the time though, money comes and goes without even realizing what i spent it on.

I always know what I am spending. As i am picking up stuff to put in my basket, I am calculating in my head. If you get to the register and the amount don't seem right, look at the receipt and handle it before you leave the store.

Investigate! Considering the store it's probably right. You can never get out of that conglomerate without spending at least $50!!

I had to laugh when I read the darkened heading of your question I thought to myself "only at Walmart" Its one of the
reasons I stopped shopping there. Back in the day it was
a good place to save. But the third generation has fined tuned its computer savy about how people shop and allowed
its managers to charge whatever their market will bear. So
now days you cannot afford to pick up shop there. They got
rid of layaway to encourage the use of big ticket credit card
sales and they used foreign markets for goods.
