think of why you hate it, is it something you know nothing about? or something you know enough about/have had enough experience with, that you know you hate it? is part of the reason you dont like it because its difficult for you to grasp?
if you must learn it, either for a class or because you feel its important, go into it with an open mind, if its difficult know you will need to work on it extra, if you dont like it realize that you may not know all about it
make it a challenge to yourself, enter your study with a goal of finding something you like about it, or that is usefull about it, even if you come out at the end with only reinforcing your hate of it, you will know that you have a firm foundation for that hate
often, what people really hate is the work it takes for them to learn a subject, for instance English grammer, so many say they hate it, but yet they actually like it, they like learning a system by which they can communicate, they like being able to communicate in a way that others accept as educated, they just hate the process that it takes to learn it
