Its not just you. Its sad how little kids want to know in school yet come on here asking questions like "I had unprotected sex during my time of ovulation, could I be pregnant" among other questions.

The blame lies all over though. Teachers are good, but PARENTS should also be talking to their children, especially about their own experiences while growing up and developing. I see so many kids asking how to talk to their mom about their period, it was never a big deal for me since I know she went through it as well.

There are also parents who do not know the facts either, though most are young kids who are parents there are older parents who also do not know as well.

It isn't just you, I assure you of that!

It's not just you. I too think it's scary. It's actually a very simple process. I haven't taken health class in 17 years, but I still remember the teacher making all the boys leave the class, and then making us girls watch the goofy videos about ovulation, fertilization, implantation, menstrooal (that's how the woman in the video pronounced it, anyway. lol) cycles, etc.

Some of the questions (esp. in the pregnancy and parenting section) are downright ridiculous. "I'm cramping and spotting blood a little. My period just ended two days ago and me and my bf had sex 13 times in the last two days. CAN I BE PREGNANT???" I've gotten to the point where I don't even answer any of the pregnancy questions anymore.

It totally is! I can't believe the things that people are afraid of. Sex for the first time, that they are late on their periods when they are virgins. That people in this day and age still use the pull and pray method. I'm all for helping out and answering questions but the lack of common sense is stunning. People need to read and be educated before they start having sex. If you really aren't prepared to face the possible consequences then I agree keep your legs shut! And they are all afraid of pregnancy and yet nobody worries about diseases! That scares me, that people are more worried about pregnancy than a disease that can kill them or destroy their fertility. People seem to forget that if you sleep with a person you are sleeping with everyone that they ever slept with. Its not just the women the men are just as ignorant. I hope this site helps them get educated before its too late.

My boyfriend's mom is a middle school health teacher. Kids have been going through sex ed since 5th grade by this time. I grade some of her papers occassionally (right now it's an all female class) and these kids know nothing! She's a great teacher, but they all simply don't care to learn. She tries and tries and tries and they just refuse to absorb any information. They absolutely refuse. I was looking at diagrams labeled and these awful kids had fallopian tubes on males and would call the urethra of the male a "tube". They all could lable the penis perfectly, though, haha. But when it came to the female diagram, most of the girls just left it blank, completely. Even the vagina! I don't know what's up with kids.

No kidding! I have wondered some many times how these women could not know this! If you have a computer (which they obviously do if they are on here!), they can easily google many of these things or go to any TTC or family planning or women's health website and learn all of this. Craziness! I can see on some of the things where they are looking for specifics, great, ask if someone has been through it before. But all the things you listed- they should know the answers to those!

They should know all this, sometimes even guys know more about all this, cause they don't want us to get pregnant. But, well, I guess if we can, we should help those who don't know all this stuff. Maybe next time they won't ask, or they will get a little more concerned about this and will look for all that information that is available outhere.

I fully agree. It is sad this day in age to with so many nasty STD's and HIV going around that people still have causal sex.
Doctor and nurses have seen it all.
If you can't talk to your parents go to a planned parenthood they will educate you and help you get on birth control.
If not at least go to the library and educate yourself.

Scary.

Also scary that boys don't know how they work, and that boys don't know how girls work, and vice versa.
