Dear Michelle, Your question does no specify if your husband is unable to have children due to a vasectomy, or he actually does not want them, but on chance I'll assume and will take the first. Just because he has had the big V does not really prevent a family from having a child. I had the vasectomy when I was 32 after discussing it with my wife, as I already had a son who lived with us by a previous relationship and as both of us were work oriented she fully agreed to the operation. But you never know what lies around the corner my wife and I went separate ways and finally got divorced and I moved to France where I met my last wife. She to wanted a child from me and as she was a doctor she had contacts that made this possible. There are two procedures that can be applied, 1) is that the vasectomy can be reversed via a local anaesthetic, leaving it open for more children if you so wish, the other is called IVF (Invitro fertilisation & embryo transfer), this is a more indepth operation using general anaesthetic for both partners, for the male, the doctor would remove sperm from both tubes and testicals, I must point out this can be painfull and bed rest is needed for 10 after the operation. For the women, she is give a series of injections to ensure a maximum number of eggs, after the injections she is taken into hospital and under a gereral anaesthetic the eggs are removed. these are incubated with the sperm and then frozen, when the time is right the doctor will implant the fertile eggs back into your womb (no anaesthetic is needed) and with luck you will automaticlly become pregnant, they will keep some eggs frozen just incase the first procedure does not work they can use the eggs they have frozen. I am not sure if this is avaliable on the NHS you will have to discuss this with your doctor, you may both have to go through a series of counselling sessions but if you both want children you should not have a problem. I wish you luck and happiness.............David

If he cant have kids naturaly and u want a child, why dont u sit him down, let him know how much u would want be a parent with him, u can go seek help by a doctor, either artifical way, or sperm donor, or adoption.. Blood dont make u a parent its actually been there, supporting and rearing a child that makes u a parent and let him know by been there and rearing the child, he be the father and no1 else will be...
Let ur husband think about it for while and im sure he will want u to be the mother of his child, be it what ever way u have ur child together.
But if he dont go with those options then im afraid u either get the idea of haven a child out of ur head or leave him and find some1 who will, ur choice at the end of the day but i wish u al the best of luck to u both

Both of you go and chat with your doctor,he/she will be able to tell you what other options you have and be able to help you much more than anyone on answers, cos you clearly love your husband,so seeing a professional might just help you both in the long run.
Goodluck.

Don't you mean you want kids, I have just looked in the dictionary and wot is not in it. If you can't spell how do you expect to bring up children.

i suggest you talk this over with your husband. there are actually other means you can resort to if you really want to have children. you can opt to adopt or have artificial insemination. that way you can still keep you marriage and at the same time fulfill your dream of having a child.

Either speak to a doctor about artificial insemination or adopt. You do not physically have to give birth to a child to be it's parent.
You also need to speak to your husband and see what he feels about these things... it's more important to keep your marriage healthy than have a child

He can not have children based on what? There are many medical procedures that can assist in impregnating you. What does the doc say about your husband and why he can not produce?
