Education should make us more cultured and compassionate, otherwise how do we distinguish between the educated and an uneducated? Two close associate who mastermind terror attacks are highly educated: one, an MD in paediatrics and the other a PhD in Jurisprudence! Don't you think that we must do something to make education that reforms individual from evil to enlightenment?

it's the person's belief that drives them to do whatever they did. I don't think it has anything with education. Many of those terrorists regardless their education level believe (more like brainwashed) that their actions are justified.

It's not education that makes evil it is the misuse of religion, and power to lead the uneducated. When you become a medical doctor you take an oath, the first four words are "First do no harm"! That is something a doctor should live by the rest of his/her life. Because two people with degrees lead a terrorist organization does not mean there are many educated people in that organization. If you study the information most are uneducated, poor and living in poverty.

The upanisad says that: Asatamo sat gamayo,
Tamsoma yotir gamoya,
Mriturma amritam gamayo,
om shantihi.
So it is from that very time from when education has started to drift from this upanisadic goal, which says to move from 'untruthfulness to truthfulness, ignorance to knowledge, from death to eternity, it has started to grow down.

That is why ,even being highly educated they get swayed away by religious misinterpretations. They cannot identify and differentiate between the way to heaven and way to hell !

So it is we who have to decide whether it shall be 'survival of the fittest or ' Sarve bhabantu sukhinaha, sarve bhabantu niramayha............'

Character comes from home/parents. That's why in Indian they say, get to know the character of the bride's mother. The character of the mother will tell the character of the bride.

Education will teach the good & bad theoretically. But the practice comes from every where. Practice makes perfection.

Those who were educated may be good in their respective fields but they were brainwashed since they were very young. The answer is to change the type of schooling that they receive.
