Because you are a pessimist...People are not miserable. I am very content even that I am not rich. Sound like you are trying to belong to something, you feel alienated. That will take initiative, take up a hoby and join a club and meet people with the same interest, that was what I did, it work for me...

We are all foreigner even to our own country, it is not only you who could feel it. Especially , when a person grows matured, sometimes, you feel isolated from everybody. The term is your life's turning point, a part of you needs or longed for a change,ãmaybe your life seems so extravagant (sorry to say this) .
Human has natural thermometer, your body is , talking, or teaching you to search, what is really the thing that you want, and this time , you must listen to it. In order to know what does it really want, you have to slow down for a while, take a vacation , relax, and I`m sure you would find the good answer. Meditation is good too.
I think you have to involve yourself spiritually.

You know the answer to your first question. You answered it yourself. You are un-happy because you feel like a foreigner. Nobody has the same problems as you. You have nobody to talk too.
Well, there are sky diving, dating, dance, 4H and many other culture and society clubs and churches you can explore. Seek and Enjoy.
Only the American Indians aren't foreign in America. We all are foreign. So buck up bud and get out a meet folks.
Why are people everywhere just so miserable? We Aren't. We just need a reason to speak to you. Try smiling at people, say GOOD MORNING to strangers and mean it. Comment on their clothes, kids, what they have in their shopping carts. If you pull yourself into a good mood, happy people will attract to you.
Christmas, Yule, Hanukkah and earthly change of the season, all are coming up in a few weeks.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS STRANGER! Crappy weather we are having now. I love crappy weather.

You havent ever been told by anyone else that thier miserable, you just take that sort of effect i spose.
Most of us arnt misserble and we work 5days a week or part time and go to college.
Lots of us have such a hard life but we still manage to smile.
Have you got a girlfriend? Or someone extreamly close to you?
If not then i think its time for you to gain more confidence and find yourself someone special but then don't reley on them 24/7.
I hope you find where your heart is.

Be thankful for what you have. I know people who are still happy, with much less material value.

I am not miserable, so don't lump me into your generalization. If you hate your life, do something about it.
