Sadly enough, I know quite a few couples who do exactly that!

Sadly yes some do that.
I went to school with a girl who lived with her aunt in our town but her parents lived in a different state and still claimed her and her 7 siblings (who didn't live with the parents either) as dependants so they could get the money even though the kids aunts and uncles were the ones raising the kids.
It's just sad.

my mother had 5 kids and sucked off the welfare system til we were all 18.then she disappeared.no she wasn't disabled and could work, she was just a loser.luckily most of us seen how she was and did the total opposite and got jobs and paid our own way.

Some people do that. Then there are others who do get married and still do that.

Definitely! There are more "benefits" to being a single mom.

That's what I think. Even if they were married, though, they can still get welfare. Even men can get welfare.
