And don't give me the "students-will-miss-too-much-school" argument, because a)Division I-AA,II, and III all have playoffs, and those schools graduate more players and b)half of the players at the big schools are studying anything anyway.

His argument is weak at best, completely nonsensical at worst. I could rip it to shreds sentence by sentence, but don't have the time.

Most of his article isn't even a argument for a playoff system, it's just a description of how he thinks it should work. The first sentence that argues against the BCS is in the "Competition" section, where he claims schools would schedule more high profile games if there was a playoff, which is completely WRONG! In college basketball, where there IS playoff system, teams still do not schedule very many high profile games (percentage wise, not games wise, since they play more games). Ohio State has played Notre Dame and Texas in recent years, and will play USC and Miami in the years to come. What more do you want from them? Is it really better for the larger universities to NOT schedule games against small schools, and NOT give them all the money that is generated? A team like Youngstown State makes more money in their away game at Ohio State than any home game of their season, and probably more than several home games combined. Who's the winner when that game is canceled for a regular season OSU - LSU game so all the crybabies will have a better idea of who deserves to be national champion, and all the fat cats at the TV networks can line their pockets from higher ratings?

He also claims it's no big deal to exclude a bunch of teams that otherwise would have gone to small bowls, and even to run some of the bowls out of town. If that happens, they'll be taking money away from schools. Let me repeat that. They'll be TAKING MONEY AWAY FROM SCHOOLS!!! These are learning institutions first, do you really think it's a great idea to take money away from schools just so you people will have less to whine about? How about we take a bunch of money from your kid's high school just so the best high school team in Texas can play the best high school team in California just so one can say it's the best in the country. Does that makes sense to you? I hope not.

It is definitly a great arguement, and to be honest I've been saying a lot of the same things for the past couple years. I hadn't ever thought of putting all 11 conference champs in the playoffs, but I like it. I mean we all love March Madness, this could be December Delirium...personally, I'd love it.

Don't give me the academic crap either, the system is set up to help these kids, they won't miss much, and without the pageantry of the bowls, it'd be just like any other game. You'd have half the teams at home, so no reason for them to miss any classes at all. Away teams travel Friday and Sunday, missing few classes, but having plenty of time to study while they are going home.

A playoff would work and it needs to happen. Cause honestly, if Georgia or Kansas ends up in the title game, when they don't even PLAY in their own conference title game...something just ain't right.

So now you are going to tell me that the Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl, and Fiesta Bowl should just go away? Or take teams out of the top 16?

It's not going to happen!

Hawaii is the only undefeated team in college football and they wont be playing for the national championship. And they got sorry Georgia and LSU both with 2 loses above USC.

They are STUDENT athletes, trust me they study and go to classes like everyone else. I tutored a few players at WVU 10 year ago when I went there, saying they don't study is total bs.

I would LOVE to see this happen. I think it would be great for NCAA football... and in the long run help balance the weaker and the stronger teams.

There will still be arguements as to who is seeded where. I think Las vegas oddsmakers should seed the teams - not these biased pollsters.
