The results simply show that our day to day intuitions do not correspond with reality. Quantum mechanics is simply the best scientific explanation that we have of anything. It applies to everything at the atomic and subatomic levels. It is not simply wild speculation. It is actually how the universe works.

The results are not theory, they are real. The double slit experiment is a real experiment. Transistors were invented from quantum theory and it is quantum theory that explains their operation. The theory may be flawed, but the results are extremely real and practical.

Excited! Nothing is more mysterious than the quantum world.
Always expect the unexpected.
“If anybody says he can think about quantum physics without getting giddy, that only shows he has not understood the first thing about them.” Niels Bohr

Afterall physics is full of mystery, so is quantum theory. De broglie equation is one of the interesting parts.Nevertheless, doubts exist about the completeness of quantum theory. The divergence difficulty, for example, is only partly resolved. There is hope it will undergo profound changes in future

For me the WOW factor is in the observer conundrum. That observing the particle makes it behave like a particle, and when unobserved, acts like a wave. That just looking at something makes its position fixed, that shows 2 very important things. That a singular thing exists in more than one place at a time, and that by trying to observe that thing just LOOKING at it effects it! If looking at the particle makes its position possiblities go from infinite to finite, then all matter is only as we observe it. We see a coffee cup on a table, where we left it. When we turn around, the possiblities for the matter OF the coffee cup are not limited to its percieved structure, but are a wave of possibility. When we turn around and look at the cup, our minds effect the particles that make up the coffee cup, and they are right where we left it. Now this means that nothing is as it seems, and everything is a wave of possibility and our concious minds have more power than we ever dared to dream. If we effect matter in the quantuum realm, we affect it in the macro as well. Imagine what that means!!!!

Unlike you I do not see "unusual results" in QM. But also unlike you I observe nature instead of trying to force my prejudice on her. And since she won't care, no matter how much you scream, all that does is to make you look foolish. Foolish as in "What? You don't understand something as simple as QM?"
