Anyone know if this government is doing anything to stop this flogging of teacher? Surely if she is a British citizen, we should be doing all we can to help her, its not as though she been smuggling drugs or harming any of the children!

The lady in question should have researched the laws of the country she was going to work in, I and a lot of other Brits working abroad did so.The government should intervene on her behalf, This is a British citizen imprisoned for religious reasons. Come on Gordon et al, show you will look after us when the chips are down instead of just spouting!

I think some people nned toi read all of the facts. This seems to have been instigated by one person with a grudge.- the majoirty of the parent s did not have a probelm with this as most of the males are called Mohammed anyway and she did not break any laws. However, the whole issue does call into question the sanity of many of these 'followers' if they are so rigid of thought.

Being a naive westerner with little knowledge of Islam, I have been trying to understand why it would be wrong to call a teddy bear Mohammed and it occured to me, doesn't one of the ten commandents say that you 'shall not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain'? Is this a similar case?

You say she has not been harming any of the children, but if the Koran does say something like the bible says then she could be regarded as subverting the children's beliefs.

Makes one wonder what else you could do & upset them.

Just be careful what you put in your windows this Christmas its suppose to be Happy Holiday. But in my window it will loudly decare Happy Christmas.Instead of showing your distaste on here about such events then do something about it. Engfland is a Christian country and will remain so.As to the outrageous event in Sudan we must stand no nonense and free this woman immediatly.Do not allow this type of intimidation the choice is yours.

I think they should demand her release, from the Sudanese prison. Imprisoned over such a minor dispute about a teddy bear, stupid. Shows the pettiness and ignorance of those people. Islam raises it's **** head again.

The poor woman made a mistake as she didn't understand the fanatisism that permeates some areas of Islam. The PM should show the same interest in her case as he did the Mc's. Lets see if he does.
