Because you are questioning their commitment to their ideas and that makes them sad and they report you.
Can't say I blame them - can you imagine someone like that actually getting shot at? What are they going to do, report it to their commanding officer?

Ask Yahoo. Why is it a violation to support the troops? Ask Yahoo. Ask the reporter as well.
I support the war, but more than that, I support the troops who fight it. I got two violations yesterday because of the supporting questions I asked. I've been given violations for complaining about the ACLU trying to take away Christmas, so you don't really have a complaint, unless you want to fight YA for their policies. Can I ask you something? If you don't hate the troops, why aren't you in Iraq? Not all of us can be in Iraq. Some of us must stay home, for whatever reasons. Could be disability, children, jobs, too old.....maybe to keep America running as a country? If we all went to war, who would be here in America? Libs against the war? Who then would take care of them? Elitist Hollywood? If that's what you think, forget it. Hollywood doesn't give a crud about you, or me!

Well, it is a legitimate question, but it's nonsensical as well. You see, only about 15% of our military is now in Iraq and a great many of those are air force and navy and as such will never even set foot in Iraq. So saying, "Why aren't you in Iraq" is sort of problematic. You make it sound so simple when, in fact, it's not.
You also ignore the fact that the military doesn't take everyone. You have to be the right age, the right sex (for the most part) and meet a number of physical conditions. Flat feet? Forget about it. Color blind? No way. So that excludes quite a few folks. So, again, you see, it ain't that easy.
And yet to use your logic, only those who can and are in Iraq can support the effort and the men and women now in Iraq. And that too is silly. That's like saying that the only people who could support the allied effort in the second world war were those in the theatre of operations. Family, brothers, sisters, friends and such had no legitimate right to support the effort of the troops fighting and dying in our defense.
So your question is legitmate, but that doesn't mean it's not poorly conceived and really rather stupid. In fact, it's as stupid as me asking you why you are not in Iraq fighting for al Queda. After all, your distain for American efforts in Iraq, your desire for us to surrender and leave the people of Iraq at their hands is EXACTLY what they want to. So, in effect, by supporting al Queda's goals, you support al Queda. And if so, why aren't you over there fighting for them. It's the same logic...or illogic.
Hope that helps. As to why it's a violation, I don't know. I'm not Yahoo.

I'm guessing that it is not an answer. At least not the one for which they are looking. Answering a question with a question would seem to be a violation but, asking why they are not in Iraq would appear to be rhetorical.

Because it's not an answer. I'm not a fan of reporting etc. by any means but this violates one of the more basic "rules".
Try posting it as an actual question. That might work. "Might" being the key word, as this question has been asked about a zillion times.

I don't really know why it would be a violation. It shouldn't be. You have every right to ask it. But it is an ignorant question. Are we not free Americans? Are we not allowed to support a cause that we are not directly involved in? Are we not free to support other free Americans in choosing to fight for a cause that they believe in so strongly that they are willing to put their lives on the line for it?
Is everyone who supports gay marriage have to be gay now? Does everyone who is Pro-Choice have to have at least one abortion now or they have to be Pro Life? Does everyone who is against the war have to french-kiss terrorists? Does everyone who wants Amnesty have to be an illegal alien or they have to keep their mouth shut? This is where your "If you love it so much why aren't YOU over there, Chickenhawk????!!!!" mentality gets us.

Well, although it does seem apparent, it doesn't necessarily follow that it is a relevant argument. Although I am against the war, in spite of opinions to the contrary, it doesn't automatically follow that I am rooting for Al Qaeda. That is lazy thinking and fallacious reasoning. One set of circumstances does not automatically mean another one logically follows, although it may appear on the surface of it that it should.

I give it to them constantly.
I don't think Yahoo even reviews the answer before pulling it. I have had some problems with getting reported. Sometimes I had it coming. More often than not I didn't.
I set my Q & A to private and I think that helped. It makes it harder for your trolls to follow you around and report willy nilly.

I agree with the war. People are not thinking straight who is against it. The information they receive does not speak the truth.

Probably because most of the people that ask this question do so to try to hide their own cowardice. It's easier to point a finger than to examine your own motivations.
