The Puritans didn't massacre the Indians. The local Native Indians helped the Pilgrims learn how to plant and harvest and store food and meat to survive through the winter so the local government had a feast of Thanksgiving to celebrate the good harvest and to thank the Indians for their help in surviving. You need to study your American history
