I mean in each following book, it seems she never seems to learn anything of worth from the previous books, still makes the same mistakes over and over?
This is just my take, I don't want to offend anyone who enjoys these books. I do like the ones Janet writes with the girl mechanic and her sometimes on again off again race car boyfriend.

Bummer, I give everyone a thumbs up for their answers and I don't even get a star. I thought this was an interesting question and you answered. Double bummer, this really bums me up!

You're not alone.
Stephanie is good for making wry comments in terrible situations, and ruining good situations with the wrong comment.
I'd like Grandma Mazur to have her own series. I love her trips to the funeral home, her concealed weapons, her attempts to get some hot senior action.

Stephanie Plum is me. Just ask my significant other. Yes, I do stupid things and continue doing them repeatedly. Guess it's part of my charm. He certainly feels a need to "protect" me. Am I an idiot? I don't think so. Just scatterbrained. I have an IQ of 139 so that's not the problem. I also have a head full of common sense. But somewhere along the line I've become a blonde!!!

Stephanie Plum does have moments of pure irrational thought. Even though I love Janet Evanovich's style and delivery, her heroine doesn't seem to really grow at all, which irks me, but it's kind of comforting in a strange way. Actually from what I know of people, most don't really learn from their mistakes.

You have to love Ranger and Morelli, though. I'd let them fight over me any day.

I think that's part of her charm. It just isn't a book until she sets a car on fire. I do wish she'd choose between Ranger and Minelli, though. (The books are great to listen to while I drive - pure fluff that loses nothing if I miss part of the story because traffic gets heavy.)

I like her, but I wish she'd hurry up and choose between Joe or Ranger, because each book seems pretty much the same now.

She is kinda dumb, but that's what makes it interesting. In each book, I'm waiting to see what crazy situation she gets herself into next or if her car will explode.
