Cry babies.
Hockey Players play 84 games over a 6 month period, then they have playoffs. I don't see why the season can't be extended, or an extra game thrown in. The teams that played Thanksgiving only had a few days rest.
And before you attack hockey, I watched a player take a puck to the eye in pre-game warm ups, go and get 15 stitches in his head and start the game. Oh, and Hockey Players have longer careers than NFL players.

They only play 16 games spread out over 17 weeks.
Each team gets a week off.
To answer the question: Because it's not physically possible to play 2 NFL games in a week.
I love football too but lets not be ridiculous!!

While I personally agree with you, it makes sense for the NFL financially. The Pro Bowl still brings in a ton of money, and moving it before the SuperBowl would make more. And here's why. I've asked several people about the ProBowl during or after the Superbowl, and non of them even knew about it. Casual fans, but fans nonetheless. For them the season ends when the SuperBowl MVP holds the trophy and says he's going to Disneyland. By making it before the Superbowl, these casual fans will be forced to watch it, because they will likely continue watching on Sundays until the SuperBowl. The more people that watch it, they more money the NFL makes. That's what it is all about.

Because then it would become like hockey, basketball, and baseball. No one would care because it's easier to go and see a game like that. It's supply and demand.
(There's actually over 20... 4 preseason, 16 regular season, and up to 4 playoff games depending on how good your team is)
Personally, I'd rather watch just one Super Bowl game than sit and watch 7 World Series games or 7 NBA Championship games!

if they play that often...that means games wont be on saturdays and sundays...they will be all spread out. you would have tuesday and wednesday nite football. the marketing would be a nightmare. and people dont have 3 hours to devote to a game on a weekday.

Players' careers would be about two seasons with that many games.

Yep-Same reason I'd like to see NASCAR all year. They all need time off to de-stress and be with their families.
