Kamran, so can I but there is only so much room on here. I am very well versed on most religions, and, quite frankly they all suck! I am not trying to be confrontational, simply informative.

In the past terrible things were done in the name of religion but the Christian church has long ago moved on from those barbarities. The problem nowadays is that terrorists from the IRA to Islamists have commited atrocities in the name of religion for the sake of trying to achieve some sort of moral high ground. People aren't stupid and have not been fooled; most sane people loathe all forms of terrorism.

I tried to say this yesterday - though I must admit not in such a diplomatic way as I was getting increasingly annoyed by the hatred directed towards all muslims for the beliefs and actions of a few.
This is why I too, am not religious.

this is a sticky route to go down, I have asked questions of religious leaders but not had a satisfactory answer to the main question, How can you prove the existence of God factually/
I honestly wish it could be proved because. I feel we need more than any government or, any person on this planet to command a stop to all the evil in the world.

Some of your statements are a question of faith ,not fact
Some of them are situations hundreds of years ago when individual entities manipulated the great power of the church.
Some of your statements simply arent true.
The modern christian church commits none of the crimes you mention. Is it wrong that the church has evolved into something better?
The church runs hundreds of thousands of charities that reach out through our own countries and deep into the worst of the third world.
Millions of individuals donate money ,time and skills on a daily basis without recompense or note.
The church does not try to enforce its beliefs on to others.Of course we believe the word of christ should be spread but not enforced.
In essence ,the church, like many other religions and governments has some history that doesnt make it proud. However, none of the accusations you make could be levelled at it now.
In fact ,your hateful and agressive comments would be more fitting levelled at another existing "religion".We all know which one.

Yes, some of the examples you quote are barbaric, but they happened hundreds of years ago. They may have been done in the name of religion, but they were done by fallible men and women. They have NEVER been part of the Church's teachings, so you are wrong to use them as an example of what's wrong in Christianity.

Time to put ALL god botherers in the bin! There is no place for religion in a modern world. Decent thinking people don't need a crutch to make them do the right thing and no amound of threats will make a little toe rag do the right thing. They've either got decency or not.

Michael, there is no barbaric law to punish people with in the name of Christianity in the UK today, unlike Sharia Law, that IS barbaric. Or do you agree with Sharia Law?
