Well, I guess it is the person using the drugs. Drugs are the cause of the unhappiness but the person who keeps using them is ultimately the one causing the problems by continuing to use them.

It is either the user OR the person who fabricates a serious issue when there isn't one. Example:

Example 1: Husband is a crackhead. He starts spending all the paycheck money on drugs and shirks his responsibilities. The household breaks apart due to his addiction. In this case, it is the husband's fault, he crossed the line and let his use overpower his responsibilities.

Example 2: 17 year old son is using pot at parties, recreationally and occasionally. He is still responsible and his grades don't drop and it doesn't affect his life. Mother finds out and goes bezerk. Getting him arrested, etc... He rebels even harder and gets into drugs heavy just to spite her. He ends up shot in a bad deal. If the mother were less controlling and more interested in teaching her son about life then maybe he would still be alive.

My opinion: Drugs should be okay and legal to use. Provided you are not working, driving or caring for others when you're using them. Provide a designated driver or take a taxi when you're going to get high. Just like getting drunk. When a recreational drug crosses the line it interferes with one of these three things:
1) If it affects your relationships. If there is someone in your life who you love but you will not give up something they are against then it becomes more important than them and it is an addiction.
2) It affects your bank account. If you spend all your money on drugs, it's an addiction.
3) Your job. If you need to go to work high then prepare for the consequences.

If someone can use recreationally and not get addicted, then let them have fun! Too many people confuse using drugs with addiction and that is not always the case. As a final note: some drugs are obviously more addicting than others.

Bute twice a day for extended periods of time will cause ulcers. Walking on his soles is not good for the overall health of the horse. What is a 'messed up' knee? It sounds like an old injury that's inoperable. Sadly, I believe you know what the best decision is for this pony. Better a moment too soon than a moment too late. Cash has very little to do with it. It's about doing the right thing for the horse. Soon that bute is going to lose efficacy and then you'll be really in a pickle trying to keep him comfortable. Make the appointment, let him pig out the hour before-hand, and let him go from his painful body. *hug*

Both the user and the drugs - and I say it breaks up any home - happy or sad.

drugs aren't the cause of breaking up a home, its the user of the drugs, they make the choice to take them, and inhibit themselves from normal day to day feelings. Drugs are the worst thing in the world, anybody who takes them, needs there head read. My uncle threatend my brothers wife, when he was on drugs, when she was pregnant with her first child, haven't spoken to him for over 6yrs, as far as i'm concerned, drugs aren't an excuse for the way they act, and they should step up to the plate, on there responsibilites, especially if they have a family!!!!!!!!

Most definatley it is the drugs. Drugs will change peaple, will make them into someone they would have never been had they never done drugs. Don't ever get involved with someone that is using, nothing but heartache because it will be just a matter of time before things are out of control..

It's the user. At the end of the day it's the choices YOU make, the drug didn't chose to be taken, it was just there, meant to be taken. Drugs have no feelings or emotions, we do, and it's us to say yes or no to them.

If you are asking where to place the blame you should always place it on the user. Don't blame the drugs because blaming an inatimate object for something going on in your life is crazy. Everyone has to take responsibility for their own actions.
