Awww Poor J! I hope you feel better soon! I do feel guilty... Don't feel bad you need your complete focus on the kiddies and how would you yell sit down if your losing your voice?

Yes, but it's because of the times I have called in without being sick! For some reason I feel guiltier when I'm ACTUALLY sick. Don't know why that is, I think I just have a sneaking suspicion that no one believes me.

I don't feel guilty at all because people are always calling me in to work and i always say yes so if i get sick then i do not hesitate to call in i deserve it

I got all of those and I am still at work. Actually my voice is gone and work in a non retail position where I am on graveyard so it doesnt bother me. I feel guilty because it would impose myself on someone else having to come in to cover which means one less day off for them!

Stop feeling guilty. I used to go into work sick and then everyone else would catch it. I wasn't doing them any favors. It's better to get well and come back ready to work at your best. -without dragging your coworkers down with you.

yes I felt guilty, we only had one person per shift (small dept) and if someone got sick that meant that someone had to stay over four hours and one person had to come in four hours early.
Many times, I went to work sick.
after all---someone has to answer a 9-1-1 call. (and we all loved our job)
*I am retired now and still miss it but had to retire due to health problems

I always feel guilty, especially when there is something that has to be finished that day and someone else has to finish it for me.
