One joke I heard was, "They were late for World War 1, they were late for world war 2, but it looks like they are early for world war 3"

The real trouble I think will be irresponsible regimes passing on nukes to terrorist groups (probably Islamic), or using them on the sly. Russia is arguably heading towards dictatorship, Pakistan might become more extreme Islamically, Iran might have weapons within 5 years.

Having said that I think that America was too aggressive after 911 - many people conceded that the Taliban needed to be removed if they wouldn't give up on harbouring Osama, but after that support was lost a lot. The aggression has got the Ayatollocracy in Iran going in headlong pursuit of a nuclear deterrent (which they unfortunately might also give to shia terror groups.) But I don't think the Americans will use nuclear weapons on anyone unless someone strikes them in that way - in which case it would be likely I suspect.

What a mess they're in. They were the only ones to drop nukes on people and don't want to do it again for fear of it not being 'PC'. UK, USA, and Europe keep advertising on T.V. for troops but no one's volunteering, not even the neo nazis. The 'immigrants' and the children wouldn't fight for these countries, and who could blame them after what the worlds right- wing press have been saying lately. If they brought back the draft there is no way i'd fight side by side with a bunch of nazis who want me dead. YES, THE WORLD'S GOVERNMENTS ARE IN A MESS, let's see what their next move is, should be interesting.

The world bank insisting on the privatisation of publicly owned water utilities in developing countries is a moral holocaust so, perhaps.

Probably, but hey! the world looks a bit of rubbish place right now and they may take a good few nutters with them. I'm sick to death of the lot of them; Yanks, Muslims, petty little grubbers. A fresh start may be just what the doctor ordered.

No. But the lack of their aggression might. As this could lead to other extremist countries left to do as they like. committing genocide against the Kurds ,as has happened in Iraq and the Gulf, etc. Put it this way, I'd rather be under American or British rule then the Ayatollah of Iran, and that's for sure.
We have to keep the upper hand, or there could indeed be nuclear war. I think it's keeping the upper hand that stops them from producing nuclear weapons. With out them there's no war.

It's looking increasingly like it.This next 420 days could be pretty hairy. He's a man who doesn't know when to stop digging when he's in a hole so we may yet see some desperate acts by this lame duck.

With their recent activities it would appear that way. They do have a history of using nuclear weapons.
In the days of the cold war the US had a "first strike" policy in case of soviet invasion.
Everyone says that no sensible person would start a nuclear war. This is Americans we're talking about ("sensible" and "American" are mutually exclusive words)
Nuff said really

My concern and shared by many people is, if a nuclear situation develops, it will be by accident, and not design.
