I have a debt with capital one.... and I couldnt afford to pay it so it was sent to a creditor..

This creditor called me this morning.. They refused to tell me what company they were.. They lady was YELLING at me, telling me I didnt need to know and I should just pay my debt.

She finally told me MCO financial systems? She was completely rude telling me she didnt need to tell me any information. I asked her for her name, she refused. I asked several more times and she hung up on me..

Yesterday they called also, and i siad i couldnt pay the bill and hung up. they called right back, I hung up again and said i cant afford it and to not call back, he called back 4 times.

Is there any laws against this harrassment? what should i do..
and dont tell me pay the bill, i dont have the $

yes -- best way is to go back to capital one and try to work something out == if you have a cell phone cable tv and internet get rid of them and you will have 150 a month to help pay down your bill!!!

Watch for scams, especially this time of the year.
Credit collection agencies that are in full force are trying to get people to pay for debts that are passed the statute of limitations, and over 20 years old.
I would report this company to the do not call registry (providing you have caller ID and their phone number)., as well as the FTC. )Federal Trade Commission.
You do not need the name of the person calling you, only their phone number.
And if they call again, tell them to cease and desist from calling you immediately, or ask to speak to a supervisor and tell them the same thing.
Do not answer any questions they may ask, or give them pertinent info such as your address and SS number.
Also, if you know you owe the bill and they are still calling, you can still report them for harassment.
