Actually yes, I just got finished with a book called "Wicked". All about the life and times of the wicked witch of the west. Very interesting... I also recently read a Joyce Meyer book called "Seven Things That Steal Your Joy". I really love fantasy and science fiction reading: escapist reading. Also I enjoy the occasional motivational or inspirational work. My birthday is today and my parents bought me 4 books in the Xanth series by Piers Anthony. Now he is an entertaining writer.

I finished Sold by Patricia McCormick and loaned it to my sister friend.

13-year-old Lakshmi lives an ordinary life in Nepal, going to school and thinking of the boy she is to marry. Then her gambling-addicted stepfather sells her into prostitution in India.

I started two books which I hate to do but kinda misplaced one and started the second and finally found the original one I started....

Cathy's Book: If Found Call 650-266-8233 by Sean Stewart and Jordan Weisman.

It is written as a mystery, and there are phone numbers to call, Web sites to visit, documents to look at, and doodles to view.

I bought it cause of the doodles I won't lie.

the second book was My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult.

Kate Fitzgerald has a rare form of leukemia. Her sister, Anna, was conceived to provide a donor match for procedures that become increasingly invasive. At 13, Anna hires a lawyer so that she can sue her parents for the right to make her own decisions about how her body is used when a kidney transplant is planned.

I'm about 70 pages in on that one and will probably finish that one up rather then Cathy's book.

Yes. I am reading a Debbie Macomber series. I read the last book(7) over the summer, and enjoyed it so much, I wanted to know these characters better. So, when I got home, I started at the beginning and am now on book 4. I recommend them to anyone who enjoys books about women and their friendships and families.

Yes, It was called "The Known World" by Edward P. Jones. Very interesting characters and situations. Jones is masterful at conveying a characters essence with a frugality of words. Turns out he has a strong short story background which probably accounts for his verbal compactness. I would add that due to this compactness there are a lot of characters, once you get to know them a bit, it becomes somewhat easier to keep them straight due to their distinctness (just like real people). Jones has definitely entered my list of writers not to be missed, and I can easily see his writings entering the realm of classics, in time.
