Edit, I wanted to let everyone know that I agree with this article, that there WAS NOT ANY solid evidence that could have prevented the 9-11 attacks.

Nobody knew of the enormity and perverse nature of the attack this country endured. I do believe that the Clinton and Bush administration knew that Bin Laden was and still is a danger to America. However, there is no credible evidence to suggest that either administration knew how, when, or where. It is also ludicrous to believe that either knew and stood idly by and did nothing as thousands of Americans were killed and truly life as we have known has been changed in the post 9/11 world! I am amazed at how obtuse some of my fellow Americans can be in their belief that our President had any power in stopping the attacks. Whether you like Bush or not, or Clinton for that matter, it is completely asinine to believe that these men perpetrated the attacks or did nothing to foil them. Fact: middle eastern, towel wearing cowards that belong to an islamo fascist ideology carried out atrocities against the American people. Fact: spoon fed, kool aid drinkers that get their news from Michael Moore et al, will believe whatever they are told that furthers the Anti-American (and more importantly to them the Anti-Bush) rhetoric that they thrive on. Fact: Bush did know that Bin Laden was a credible threat and a ticking time bomb. FACT: BUSH DID NOT, NOR DID ANY OF THE INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITIES KNOW WHEN, WHERE, AND HOW!

I read that article and could not see where it could be prevented. the briefs were generalized and only talk about a possible attack.
Being in a position of power I try to put myself in a seniro with no prior knowledge of an attack and then read articles like this would make me believe the same way the Bush administration did.
Every Day there is threats of terriorist attacks in the USA and how can we prevent them? most are just harassment threats and some are real, How do we determine which ones to investigate first?

Okay, heres my 2 cents... take or leave it.

On Sept. 11th in the WTC there are thousands of top level executives and government workers, and all of those people decided not to show up to work on that day. Just random coincidence or something more? I think it would be extremely naive to believe that it was just random coincidence. How many people were told to not fly on 9/11? Hundreds if not thousands of people who were deemed important enough to save by the government, or they new people in the intelligence community who gave their friends a warning.

So certain people knew well in advance, this is also evident due to stock market activity just before 9/11. So we have established that certain "important" or very wealthy people knew about the attacks, why wasn't everyone warned?

There are two possibilities:
- The government planned this and wanted the attacks to happen, they warned the people they deemed important, and left the rest of us to die so they could go to war in the Middle East for oil and to unleash this war on terror throughout the world which lets them do whatever the hell they want whenever the hell they want. They gain EVERYTHING and we the people lose EVERYTHING.
- The government really didn't know what was going to happen. Certain parts of the government may have been aware of the information but didn't pass it on properly and it all went unnoticed. The most highly sophisticated and most funded Intelligence network on the face of the world, ever in existence was unable to properly handle what it was designed to do. Some unknown amount of money, probably around 500 Billion a year is spent on an agency who in the end cannot do ****. Even if they couldn't get the information organized they wouldn't have too, because if other people knew, the job was already done all they would have to do is pass the word along to us.

Are we to believe that everyday people, CEOs and Business Executives were able to figure out what a 500 Billion a year agency could not?... or was this all carefuly planned?

You decide

I seem to be getting a lot of thumbs down, did I get my facts wrong? I admit the 500 Billion a year is just something I pulled out of my ***, hell its probably more than that anyway. Other than that I believe all my facts are accurate and correct, if anyone thinks otherwise I would appreciate if someone would bring that to my attention, other than that if you don't like what I'm implying, you have my permission to pull your pants down bend over and politely ask Bush to shove it up your ***, because if you do or do not like what I'm saying has nothing to do with it being correct or wrong.

No, and the article points out the folly in the theory quite well. Remember that people who fill out polls via Internet, may or may not be Americans, they also are underage and under educated, so the fact that 61% of an internet poll believes something doesn't surprise me or impress me, hell, 61% of internet people believe Aliens were captured in Area 51.

From the article you referenced, it looks like Bush knew about as much as anybody else.

Yeah, Cinderella is well written too, doesn't make it any truer though. Just like the old , Roosevelt let the Japs bomb Pearl Harbor theory. When you stop and think, yes think about it a second, you realize how crazy and implausible the theory is. Now I can sit back and watch the loons scramble to give me a thumbs down, don't drop your tin foil hats in the process please.

I don't know anyone over 21 who believes Bush knew. The problem with these polls is that they are Internet based so only kids and lifeless losers fill them out.
