Would Republicans Respect Bill More if He Finally Divorced Hillary?

I'm not a fan of divorce, but I can't understand how any human being would want to associate with that woman. That is unfathomable.

It's sad that your question is geared toward Republicans only, as if all Democrats respect Bill but no Republicans do.

First, nobody understands what happens in someone else's marriage. Given that, though, when it comes to respect and staying in the Clinton marriage, some people respect Hillary more for sticking it out, while others lose respect for her allowing herself to be cheated on again and again.

Any divorce action would, therefore, have both a positive and negative reaction. But the bottom line is that those who think Hillary walks on water would probably look at the divorce as a stroke of independence, while those who don't like Hillary would probably look at her leaving as some sort of political calculation.

Put another way - people's opinions of Hillary are, at this point, concretely formed. Any divorce action would reinforce those positions, not change them.

As for him, if she were to leave it would be no reflection on his character. Everyone knows he's a cheater. They know Bill has not been respectful towards her in the past. That's already been factored into people's opinion of him. Her leaving would add nothing new to the information people are using to base their opinions.

Hillary would have been more respected if she divorced Bill after the Monica thing. But instead, the democrats see her as "strong" for it, and not clinging, because she has a better chance for president as Mrs. Clinton.
