I have to complete a research paper about Joseph McCarthy and his relation to the Red Scare in 1980. The websites that i go to gives me information about everything BUT the Red Scare in 1980. Can somebody give me information or GOOD websites? Please and thank you!

It was in the 1950s. The fact is, there were a great number of Communists in our government at that time. This was confirmed in the early 1990's when documents made their way out of the Soviet Union.

What has inflamed the hatred against the late senator was not the fact that he was accusing innocent people (he never did), but that he was turning the heat up on guilty people. It really hit the fan when he shined his spotlight on high officials in Washington who were trying to shield the Communists in our government.
