It;s no big deal. I have to have them every couple of years because I am Diabetic. Take a magazine along with you. Take a book. You would be surprised at how fast three hours will go when you have something to read.
Good luck and gratz on being pregnant.

I'm the same, I hate blood tests! I had the glucose test a couple of months ago and the wait was a nightmare. You can only move around to go the toilet, you can't go wandering around. I remember thinking at mine that I should have taken a book to read as you can only read so much OK magazine! You could also maybe take a hand held games console such as Nintendo DS or something. Good luck , hope result is ok... mine was x

I had it done when I was diagnosed w/ PCOS - they had to make sure I wasn't diabetic (which I'm not, thankfully)
Bring a good book, a project to work on (I always take a crochet project to the doctor's office), a puzzle book, crossword, etc. Have you finished your holiday cards? Take them and your address book and work on them in the lobby. Bring a clipboard to lean on incase they don't have a table.
Just look away when they do the blood work. Let the nurse know it makes you uncomfortable to watch and bring a book or magazine in to read while it's being done.

my wife had this test a few months back, just dont take pressure. You have to drink 100gms of glucosein just 200mm of water, after your first blood sample. then two samples after every hour. I had took scrabble along and played with my wife for the first hour. and then played sudoku. then i send sms to all my freinds. In the last half hour i had just nothing to do ot discuss.
Yes ofcourse remeber to take lemon, spoon along with you as glucose can create situation of vomit in some people.
Bye and best of luck
and rest is nothing. take a chill pill

I'm not pregnant, but when I had mine they didn't draw blood as such--they gave me a large glass of what tasted like overly sweet orange juice, then sat me down and had me wait. The "blood draw" is just a pin prick--they draw a drop of blood from your finger to measure your blood sugar with a hand-held glucometer. Take a good book, or take Christmas cards to address, or any other small jobs you can take with you. My husband takes his Gameboy whenever he has to wait somewhere, and I take my cross-stitch.

Yes it is quite an old test, I am diabetic and I have always flunked this test....No tips on passing it as it is impossible to cheat it if you follow instructions and eat all the stuff they tell you ahead of time. Good luck

Take a magazine or a good book. I've had one and the time goes very quickly! I read the magazines they had in the waiting room.
