Does the sun shine all the time above the clouds?
No. The Sun does not shine above the clouds when it is eclipsed:
a) by planet Earth: For a given location this happens about 12 hours each day around the tropics, and it happens for about 6 months of each year around either pole.
b) by the Moon: (a very narrow band of cloud surface anywhere from 50 to 90 miles wide, depending on the Moon's distance at time of eclipse) This happens somewhere on the planet every 18 months or so. At a given point on the cloud tops, the Sun will stop shining for about 8 minutes.
(It does shine above the clouds all the other times).

Yes, the sun always shines. When there are clouds in the sky at your location, it still seems 'light' out because the sun is still up there shining above those clouds. When it is night-time at your location, the sun is still shining, you just can't see it (and it seems dark) because the side of the Earth you're on is turned away from the sun, and thus in shadow.

how old are you?
Well the sun is a gaseous star. It constanly produces light and heat and energy. The reason we do not see the sun at night is because at that particular time, in the place you are at night, the earth is facing away from the sun, so the other side of the earth is daytime.

Only if it is daytime. If it is night, then the Sun is on the other side of the Earth.
