Do your research. Know the show, know the character and be as prepared as you can be. Get good sleep the night before, eat well, hydrate, stretch, warm up... In terms of improv, think in terms of your character and fun. You don't want to be a downer. You want to make them laugh and you want to stay in character. As far as confidence, the more you prepare, the more you'll think "I've so got this" because most people don't prepare. They couldn't tell you the story, they couldn't tell you about the character and his or her purpose in the story... so be confident in that. Look around at your fellow auditioners and think "I know something you don't. In fact I know a lot that you don't"

good luck,
Marianne

When improvving, don't try to be laugh out loud funny or eccentric. You'll just look dumb if you do. Try to talk like some guy in the street, and don't be afraid to say nothing at all if it works. Don't try to be too grand, just do what you think the character would do.

Be confident. Just read the thing, then leave. Don't kill yourself to impress them. They don't really know what they want, so just read and split.

be yourself and don't show that you're nervous...look happy to be at the audition and don't look at your feet all the time because that shows that you're nervous...keep your head held high and don't be afraid you sell your talent and show off, thats what the casters want...good luck!
