External hard drives?

Question

im looking into getting a 300 gb external hard drive or bigger!
i was wondering where everyone would recommend getting one from for the money?
Ive looked into tiger direct and new egg, anyone got any recommedns between these two suppliers?

Both are good suppliers. But I will add you another into the mix.
Geeks.com they currently have a 320 usb drive for 84.99 bet neither tiger nor new egg can beat that!

I got mine from Best Buy, and then saw it a week or so later at Circuit city for about 10 bucks less. I didn't compare prices with tiger direct, though. MIght have been able to save a little money, but I paid under 100 bucks for a 200 g drive.

I bought a SimpleTech 500G External hard drive for $150 (regularly $230) online at BestBuy. It was a great deal.
This is the one I bought.

Check every day for sales. That's what I did.

1) you *must* be using XP SP2 or newer for the operating system to *see* the drive.
2) computers with a VIA chipset can be "dodgy" as far as connecting through the USB port
3) either supplier is OK (I have done business with both)

This doesn't have anything to do with this question... but another question you asked about toyota. I live in Georgetown and know of many people who have lied to percision saying they live in Georgetown. If you know anyone that lives here you should give their address.
