When I was in junior high they had this event Challenge Day in the Multi Use Room where you had to do all these weird activities to get in touch with your inner feelings and stuff. It made lots of kids cry and hug it was AWFUL!! If you were a problem student you had to go twice. All the students would be on one side of the room then they would say if you are abused or if your parents are divorced cross this line. It was very emotionally charged and strange. A married couple went to schools all over the country doing this. THERE HAS TO BE OTHER PEOPLE WHO EXPERIENCED THIS.
IT WAS CALLED CHALLENGE DAY!

They never had that at my school. But they had plenty of motivational speakers come in and speak to the students in the auditorium. The problem kids were sent to Ormsby School for a week. My brother went. He said it was like boot camp. Strange thing is he was a problem kid in high school and now he has a 4.0 in graduate school.

I went to one sophomore year. I think it was mandatory. I remember the "walk across..." was the part where people started crying and stuff. All the "feel good" and "no putting each other down blah blah" lasted I think about 1/2 a day after that.

I remember the husband took the wifes name, or they had a "hyphenated" situation or something like that.

I agree, it was strange. How'd they convince the school district to go along with that? Did tax money have to pay for that???

No, haven't heard of it. Once in primary school we had a School Olympics where every student competed in many small events for top records in various things. It was kind of cool, it lasted all day long.
