A relationship is just two people agreeing to live with each others differences. There doesn't have to be love, desire, or happiness to make a relationship. What we think is a good relationship may not be so for others, it's only our opinion. If a relationship is a dance then the couple choose what style the dance is based on experience with each other. There's a joke about "Swinging/Swing dancing" in here somewhere.

When one decides to enter into a relationship , say marriage: -
It is a commitment which each partner makes. Confidemnce and mutual Trust are necessary. Compromises too have to be made while one may try to change certain habits of the other so and so forth. It is a matter of understanding.

IT IS RATHER A GIVE AND GET SITUATION, FOCUS ON BEING THE PERFECT PARTNER AND NOT FINDING THE PERFECT PARTNER, CAUSE THERE AREN'T ANY. IN A RELATIONSHIP THERE SHOULD BE A LEVEL OF COMPROMISE FROM BOTH PARTIES, IF THATS NOT THE CASE THEN YOU ARE RUNNING A LOSING RACE.

dance? ok,,whatever you say. Yes,,,relationships are give and take.. For instance,,,you have to 'grin and bear' what you don't like about your 'friend/lover',,,but you get to reap (take) what you feel joyous about your friend/lover,,,and the same is true for him/her,,as he/she doesn't like EVERYTHING about you either. like ,,for instance,,that you put the paper towels on the holder wrong. :),,,thx,,and good relationships to you!
