Here notice that the product of the coefficients of squire term and the constant term = + 72. Since the product is + ve hence when we split the middle term the two parts must be either (-)ve or (+)ve. Now split the middle term (-17) into (-9) and (-8). Hence the splitted form can be written as

12 w^2 - 9 w - 6 w + 6
= 3w (4w - 3) - 2 ( 4w -3 )
= ( 4w -3 ) ( 3w - 2 ) ....................... Answer

=3w(4w-3)-2(4w-3)
=(3w-2)(4w-3)
=0,
