My husband and I are looking into buying a home. The realtor selling the home is charging a fairly expensive “processing fee”. Has anyone else ever come across this fee? Is it common for buyers to pay this?

"Processing fees" are fairly common in real estate transactions, and vary by locale. Our agency charges a flat $195 fee to cover all the assorted extras which are not covered by the general contract terms. However, in our locale, this fee is nearly always paid by the sellers of the property.
